Aylesbury Area Action Plan receives government support

On 23 October 2009, the Secretary of State's Planning Inspector gave his support to the Aylesbury Area Action Plan (AAP), bringing the ambitious plans for the redevelopment of the estate even closer.

This follows the Examination in Public (EIP) in September, when the Inspector listened to the council's case for the regeneration programme.

The council's case is based on two years of extensive consultation with residents, carried out with the support of Aylesbury NDC.

At the EIP, the Inspector also listened to the views of people who put forward concerns about the Plan. The Inspector has now concluded that, 'the Aylesbury Area Action Plan satisfies the requirements of ….the 2004 Act and associated regulations and can be considered sound in accordance with the guidance.'

This is fantastic news for the people living on the Aylesbury - another major milestone in the delivery of high quality homes, great streets, parks and open spaces, excellent public transport and a wide range of facilities.
