Big Lunch Volunteers Needed

The Big Lunch is a grassroots movement and we know that word of mouth is our strongest form of communication, so we need your help to build awareness and get more people than ever before taking part. 

Organising a community event can be daunting, so Champions will be there to provide support and information to others organising an event locally.  You don’t have to have organised a Big Lunch yourself to be a Champion, but if you have, it will be your job to share your knowledge and experience with newcomers in your area.

What you can do to help
This is a voluntary role and we really do appreciate any help that you can give, so please do as much of the following as you can:

•   Attend a briefing event in your region.  Events will take place in January; dates to follow
•   Come along and take part in press launches, events or festivals that we’re involved in to raise awareness of The Big Lunch
•  Get actively involved in and help us grow our social media networks – Facebook, Twitter and The Big Lunch blog.  This can be as simple as posting comments and sharing our wall posts and blogs with your networks.
•   Distribute promotional materials and replenish stocks (such as leaflets and organiser packs) at schools, libraries, Citizen’s Advice Bureaux, community venues, etc
•   Act as a Big Lunch spokesperson – The Big Lunch PR team may contact you to find out more about your ideas and experience
•   Hold a Big Lunch workshop – we have designed a pack for those that want to run an informal information session in their area

We all live busy lives, so we understand that some people will be able to do more than others - and that’s fine!

This should be an enjoyable and rewarding role, giving you the chance to connect with other community minded people and spread the Eden message where you live.  Eden started The Big Lunch in the belief that we, as a society, are better equipped to tackle the challenges we face when we face them together.  The Big Lunch offers an opportunity to take the Eden message out of Cornwall, right across the UK.

To thank Champions for their help, we’ll be offering various incentives throughout the year, such as tickets to the Eden Project and summer concert series and freebies from us and our partners.
